No legal entity has been registered for this service. The operator has not yet designated a company name, registered address, or governing jurisdiction for these terms. These terms are provided as an interim statement of conditions and limitations of use. They become binding only after a legal entity name, address, and governing jurisdiction are supplied by the operator and published here. Until then, use the service at your own discretion without a binding contractual framework.

1. The service

Faviscan is a diagnostic tool that checks which of a website’s declared and conventional site icons resolve successfully. It accepts a URL submitted by a visitor and returns a report of what icons the page declares and what each icon’s HTTP request returned.

The service does not:

• Store, cache, or log submitted URLs or their contents beyond the duration of a single scan
• Require user accounts or authentication
• Provide legal, security, or compliance advice
• Guarantee that the results are accurate or complete

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the service only for its intended purpose: diagnosing the icon declarations and icon availability of URLs you have the right to check. You may not:

• Use the service to probe or otherwise attack any website
• Submit URLs with the intention of causing excessive traffic or load to any target server
• Use automated tools to submit more than a small number of requests per minute (the rate limit is intentionally undefined but enforced)
• Misrepresent the service or its output as your own

3. No obligations

The service is provided “as is” without any warranty, express or implied. There is no guarantee of availability, correctness, or completeness of results. The operator is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from use of or inability to use the service.

4. Intellectual property

The Faviscan name, logo, and interface design are the property of the operator. The output of the service (a scan report) is factual and not subject to copyright. You are free to use scan results for any lawful purpose.

5. Limitations

The scanner runs on a serverless platform (Cloudflare Workers) with the following limitations that affect results:

• Hosts that are themselves behind Cloudflare will report as unreachable
• Port 25 (plain SMTP) is blocked by the platform
• Only HTTP and HTTPS URLs are accepted
• Pages returning non-200 status codes may produce unreliable icon reports

6. Changes

These terms may be updated without notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision.

7. Governing law

No governing law is designated until a legal entity and jurisdiction are established. This section will be updated when that information is available.
